New Zealand Map + Alltrails List
$15.00
I created this interactive map while I was on my 2 year working holiday visa, road tripping the entire country of New Zealand. The map was intended to be my own digital guide as I was on the road and now I’m ready to share it with other travellers.
This map is used in the free Google Maps app (downloadable directly to your phone) or via desktop for the best user experience. Its purpose is to minimize pre-travel planning as it has pins for everything from hikes and hot springs, to free camps and public washrooms that you’ll need on your journey.
This map is a one-time purchase, however it will receive automatic updates for life. The map along with a digital guide and Alltrails list will be sent to you via email after your purchase. If it does not appear in your inbox, please check your junk folder.
Please note, this map is not a New Zealand guide with detailed descriptions. Instead, it’s hundreds of pins ranging from bucket-list locations to tedious admin spots, placed with exact coordinates to make planning on-the-go efficient.
For a detailed description of what’s included in the map, please read below.
Description
The hundreds of pinned spots are categorized by the following and include:
- Main Points of Interest: cities, national parks, and can’t miss destinations.
- Hiking Trails: easy walks, difficult hikes, and cool hut hiking routes.
- Activities: Maori experiences, hot springs & geysers, surf hotspots, skydiving, museums, glowworms, boating, helicopters tours, sauna, etc.
- Photo-ops: unique and iconic photo opportunities all within a short walking distance from your car.
- Beaches: surfing, relaxing, hike-in, and drive-accessible beaches.
- Planning & Public Washrooms: public washrooms, dumping & water refill, wifi, gas stations, grocery stores, visitor centres, etc – essentially all the “boring” things you need to know before you go.
- Camping & Lodging: camping, cool lodging, and hut hiking opportunities, all divided by fee category. Easily toggle to see all the best free camping locations in a given area.
- Shopping: artisan shops, farmer’s markets, general stores for resupply, holistic/healthy stores, etc.
- Restaurants: local favourites, cafes and bakeries, good lunch and dinner spots, local brews, etc.
THIS MAP COMES WITH AN ALLTRAILS LIST, curated by me, that has every hike worth doing in New Zealand (almost 400 total).
